Privacy Policy

MacDirStat does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data — ever.

What we collect

Nothing. MacDirStat collects zero data about you or your files.

How it works

MacDirStat scans folders that you explicitly select using the system file picker. All scanning and analysis happens entirely on your device. No data ever leaves your Mac.

Network access

MacDirStat makes zero network requests. It has no servers, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no telemetry of any kind. It cannot communicate with the internet.

Your files

MacDirStat reads file metadata (names, sizes, paths) only to display them to you. It never reads file contents except when performing duplicate detection — and even then, hashing is done entirely on-device and the results are never stored or transmitted.

Third parties

MacDirStat uses no third-party SDKs, analytics tools, advertising networks, or tracking libraries.

Children

MacDirStat does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
